TNPSC Group 4 Recruitment - Eligibility Criteria

  • Village Administrative Officer (VAO): Requires a minimum General Educational Qualification (SSLC or Equivalent).
  • Junior Assistant and Typist: Candidates need a degree from a UGC-recognized University. Typists must also hold a Government Technical Examination Certificate in Typewriting (English & Tamil).
  • Forest Guard & Forest Watcher: Applicants must have successfully completed Higher Secondary (10+2).
  • Executive Officer (Grade-IV): A minimum General Educational Qualification is required.
  • Other posts: Refer to the official TNPSC Notification for specific requirements.
Age Limit (as of the closing date)

Minimum age: 18 years

Maximum age limits vary depending on the post and category:

  • Village Administrative Officer (VAO): 21 - 32 years
  • Forest Guard & Forest Watcher: 21 - 35 years
  • Junior Assistant, Typist, Steno-Typist, and other posts: 18-32 years
  • Age relaxation provisions apply to candidates belonging to SC/ST, BC, MBC, PWD, and other reserved categories, in accordance with Tamil Nadu government regulations.

TNPSC Group 4 Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

  1. Written Examination - An objective-type test covering General Studies, Aptitude & Mental Ability, and a Tamil Eligibility-Cum-Scoring Test.
  2. Document Verification - Candidates who pass the written test will be called for document verification.
